Orisun School of Hospitality is a project of Women’s Board, Educational Co-operation Society. Women's Board-ECS is a Nigerian non-governmental not-for-profit organization created in 1972 to contribute to women’s development in both rural and urban settings. Since then it has set up a number of projects in five states of Nigeria which offer a variety of activities. a management training unit based in Lagos provides service to other organizations.

Women's Board is also an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and associated to the the Department of Public Information of the UN.

1982 - Started in rented premises in Bodija Ibadan as Imoran Catering Department.

1990 - Moved to her permanent site and was approved by the Ministry of Education as Orisun School of Catering.

1992 - For the first time, students were presented for the City & Guilds London Examination in Basic Cookery and Home Crafts.

1994 - The West African Examination Council (WAEC) accredited Orisun School of Catering as an Instruction and Examination Centre for WAEC 894 Technical Examinations in Hotel and Catering.

1995 - The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) accorded the Centre recognition as an Instruction and Examination Centre for the National Technical Examinations (NTC).

January 2015- Orisun clocked 25 years in empowering Nigerian women and young girls with a professional approach to Hospitality services and in the running of the homes.

2018 - The Institute for Tourism Professionals (ITP) also accorded Orisun School the

recognition as an approved Training Centre for the Nigerian Skills Qualification (NSQ).

Our Milestones
